hajj

(Arabic:  حَجّ ). The pilgrimage to Mecca, one of the five pillars of Islam. The hajj is a religious duty for Muslims to be accomplished at least once by all adults who are physically and financially able.  A form of the word is also used as an honorific title for a person who has completed the hajj (hajji refers to a man, hajjah to a woman).
