Are you looking for a warm, cheesy, and creamy snack? If you answered yes, then keep reading.
First, what is a Greek bowl? A Greek bowl is a bowl of cooked white rice mixed with balsamic vinegar, avocado spread on top with cheese, and diced roman tomatoes.
The first step is to gather all your ingredients. You will need microwavable minute rice, avocados or avocado spread, a package of your favorite cheese, balsamic vinegar, salt, roman tomatoes, and extra bowls to put your toppings in while the rice cooks.
The second step is to get your toppings prepared to be put on top of your rice. You don’t want to cook the rice first because it will get cold while you prepare your toppings. First, if you decided to buy avocados, then you will need to slice them in half and scoop the insides of the avocado into a separate bowl. Otherwise, the already made avocado spread is ready to go! Once you have your avocado you will need to smash it until it is a green mush. Then you will need to dice your tomatoes into tiny pieces. You can slice however many tomatoes you would like. It is up to you and how you want your Greek bowl to turn out.
The third step is to get a bowl of your desired size and pour white minute rice about halfway into the bowl. Once you have filled your bowl with rice, you need to add just enough water to cover the rice. You don’t want to drown the rice because it will cause your rice to be soggy. Once this step is complete you will need to add one pinch of salt.
The fourth step is to cook your rice in the microwave for 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Take the rice out and give it a stir. Make sure there isn’t any extra water at the bottom of the bowl.
The fifth step is to start adding your toppings. You will want to add balsamic vinegar to the plain rice. Do not go overboard on this part because balsamic vinegar is very strong, and it can ruin the dish if you add too much! You only need just enough to slightly cover the rice.
The sixth step is to pat down the rice and add your smashed avocado on top. When you are adding your toppings, you can do it in any way you would like. Pilled up together, in rows, etc. After the avocado is on top you will need to add your cheese and your diced tomatoes.
The final step is to grab your fork and dive into your creamy, well-balanced, and cheesy Greek bowl. Enjoy!
