A ring of twisted metal opening at the front, designed to be worn around the neck. Torcs were popular as personal adornments and status symbols in the Scythian, Thracian, Illyrian, and Celtic cultures of the European Iron Age, from the 8th c. BCE to the 3rd c. CE. Web resource here. Video here.
