tile mosaic

A technique for architectural decoration in which glazed ceramic tiles are cut into shapes and fitted together like a jigsaw puzzle, resulting in complex patterns or images. Tile mosaic is distinct from tessellated mosaic, which uses small cubes of stone or glass (tesserae).
