Sèvres

The French porcelain factory founded in 1740 at the Château de Vincennes. In 1756 production moved to a building constructed at the initiative of Madame de Pompadour in the southwestern suburbs of Paris at Sèvres. The factory, owned by the French crown, became the preeminent European porcelain manufacurer in the second half of the 18th century. Its output in the 19th century was characterized by technical innovation and a wide diversity of decorative styles. Web resource here.
