Meissen

The Meissen factory was the first porcelain manufacturer in Europe. The production of porcelain started in 1710 in the Castle of Albrechtsburg in Meissen (near Dresden), where it was believed that the secret of porcelain production could be protected. Meissen remained the dominant European porcelain producer and innovator until it was overtaken by new styles introduced by the French Sèvres factory in the 1760s. Web resource here.
