It was a winter Sunday morning I only remember this because there was snow on the ground and I let myself sleep in. I only realized it snowed the night before because when I woke up and tried to open my eyes, it was bright. My eyelids stayed screwed shut like a heavy magnet was holding them together, and the only thing I could do was wait many seconds to pass before they lifted. The window my forehead was resting against while I slept wasn’t white from the snow, it was orange and flickering.  Continue reading
